Our Dream Destinations from Week 1

Theme Weeks

Each week has its own theme with special challenges, games, dress-up ideas, badges, and surprises. More details will be added as we get closer to each week

Week 3 - Ice Icons Week

July 20–24

This week is all about confidence, creativity and the people who inspire us.

There will be lots happening around the rink to keep skaters engaged during breaks and give them different ways to take part throughout the week.

Skaters will create an Ice Icon Profile Card to add to our Ice Icons Wall. JR Leaders will also help skaters create short Viral Trend clips for our daily posts and weekly wrap-up video.

Skaters can earn Ice Icon Cards when staff notice effort, kindness, courage, creativity, leadership and positive participation.

Upcoming Theme Weeks

Week 4, July 27–31: The Amazing Skate Race
Week 5, August 4–7: Summer Rewind Week
Week 6, August 10–14: The Kindness Cup Week

Check back each week for the full details, including what to bring, Wednesday’s Dress-Up Day theme, Thursday’s Viral Vibes Challenge, and other ways skaters can take part.

Wednesdays: Dress-Up Day

Every Wednesday will have a new dress-up theme.

Skaters can join in with a full costume, a small accessory, team colours, or their own creative version of the theme. The details for each week will be posted on this page.

Week 3 - July 22

Dress Like Your Future Self

Skaters can dress as the person they hope to become in the future.

This could be a coach, competitive skater, choreographer, teacher, doctor, artist or anything else they dream of becoming. Outfits can be simple. A sign, name tag, hairstyle or small accessory is enough.

Wednesday will also be Coach Appreciation Day. Skaters will have a chance to leave a note for a coach, JR Leader, volunteer or rink staff member.

Week 2 -

Wednesday: Something Doesn’t Add Up

Dress-Up Day: Mismatch Day

Come dressed mismatched. Try different socks, clashing colours, backwards clothes, inside-out clothing, or anything else that looks like it does not quite belong together.

Week 1 - Dress Like a Tourist Day -  Our coaches got in on the action!

Thursdays: Viral Vibes Challenge Day

Thursday is challenge day!

Each week, skaters will be given a new creative or team challenge. It could involve movement, music, skating, teamwork, a silly competition, or creating something together.

The new challenge will be posted here each week.

Week 3 - July 23

Dress Like Your Water Bottle

Skaters can dress in the same colours, style or personality as their water bottle.

Please bring the water bottle they are matching. The outfit can be simple.

Week 2

Thursday: White Lies Challenge

Skaters will create funny White Lies signs and take part in our Viral Vibes Challenge with their group.

Ideas could include:

  • I never forget my guards.
  • I love early morning practices.
  • I never complain about off-ice.
  • I always know exactly what my coach just said.
  • I never ask when lunch is.
  • I always stretch at home.
  • I never check the clock.

Week 1 - Bring your skates in anything but a suitcase (skate bag)

Weekly Wrap-Up

Each week, we’ll share a Summer Weekly Wrap-Up with highlights, photos, challenge results, badge winners, and some of the fun from the week.

Each Friday, skaters will take part in a mix of specialty off-ice sessions, group lessons, on-ice seminars, fitness challenges, creative activities.

The goal is to give skaters a chance to learn in different ways, work with different coaches and specialists, and focus on areas that may not always fit into a regular training day.

Week 3 - July 24

Group Training
Skaters will work together through a structured on-ice session focused on skating skills, movement quality, teamwork and training as a group. The session may include edges, turns, timing, speed, formations and exercises that challenge skaters to stay aware of the people around them.

On Ice- Seminar B

Skaters will explore different ways of performing with others. They will work on simple synchronized skating elements, paired movements and small-group formations. The focus will be on timing, spacing, matching movement and creating something together on the ice.

More Fun Throughout the Summer

Coach Invasions

You never know when a coach may show up with a surprise challenge, game, or activity. Coach Invasions are meant to keep things fun and give skaters a chance to interact with coaches in a different way.

Lunch Activities

Lunch breaks may include games, creative activities, team challenges, or other surprises. Skaters are encouraged to join in and have fun with their group.

Off-Ice Games & Challenges

Throughout the week, skaters will take part in games and challenges that encourage teamwork, movement, creativity, and problem-solving.

Badges & Prizes

Skaters will have different ways to collect badges and earn chances for prizes throughout the summer. These may include:

  • participating in theme days
  • completing daily or weekly challenges
  • earning WOW recognition
  • reaching new jump milestones
  • showing leadership, kindness, or great teamwork

The focus is on participation, effort, progress, and being a positive part of the summer program.

Daily Wrap up / Cool Down / Skaters Circle

The Daily Wrap up / Cool Down / Skaters Circle is part of the summer camp day.

Skaters will come together for a short cool down, stretch, and reflection before finishing for the day. It is a chance to slow down, talk about the day, recognize accomplishments, and finish together as a group.

Please encourage skaters to take part in the full camp experience, including the group activities, challenges, and Daily Circle Cool Down. These activities help skaters build friendships, confidence, independence, and a stronger connection with their training group.
