Junior Leaders – Summer 2026
Our Junior Leader program is an opportunity for skaters to grow as leaders while giving back to the club community.
Junior Leaders play an important role in our summer programs by supporting coaches, assisting with sessions, and helping all skaters feel welcome and included. This role is grounded in our PIE values of Passion, Inclusion, and Enjoyment, and is ideal for older skaters who bring energy, take initiative, and lead by example.
Through this experience, skaters will build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and learn how to support a positive team environment both on and off the ice.
We are looking for reliable, engaged skaters who are ready to contribute, support others, and help create a strong and welcoming summer program for everyone.
Position Details
Program Dates:
July 6 to August 14, 2026
Role Overview:
Junior Leaders will work alongside the Program Director and coaching team to support daily summer programming. This is a hands-on role focused on helping sessions run smoothly while supporting a positive experience for all skaters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist coaches with on-ice and off-ice sessions
- Help organize groups and support smooth transitions
- Supervise and engage with skaters
- Provide encouragement and help create a welcoming environment
- Support set-up and daily program flow
- Assist the Director with day-to-day needs as they arise
What We’re Looking For:
- Positive, reliable, and engaged skaters
- Strong communication and comfort working with all ages.
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Willingness to step in and help where needed
- A consistent and professional approach during sessions
Qualifications (Assets):
- Coaching certification (in progress or completed)
- Babysitting course
- First Aid certification
- General knowledge of figure skating and HSC/BSC programs
Time Commitment:
- Availability throughout the full program dates
July 6-Aug 14th Monday to Friday 7:30 - 4:30 - Consistent attendance for assigned sessions
Training Requirement:
Mandatory training will take place on June 29 or 30 (time TBD) for those selected.
