It is charged only once per year per skater with the year running from September 1st to August 31st.
Refund Policy
The Membership fee is non-refundable. Registration fees will be reimbursed for medical reasons on a prorated basis minus a $25 administration fee. Program Cancellation
Halifax Skating Club reserves the right to cancel any program due to insufficient enrolment.
Fundraising helps defray the cost of skating registration and club expenses.
Skaters are welcome to fundraise through other activities. The Halifax Skating Club arranges fund raising events throughout the year when enough skaters and their families indication an interest in participating. Typical activities include grocery-bagging, basket draws, ticket raffles for skating events. The Halifax SC Board must approve all fundraising.
Skaters/families participating in fundraising events will receive a 50/50-profit split with the club paid out in the form of ice credit vouchers. Fundraising credits are not redeemable for cash. If for any reason you cease to participate in Halifax Skating Club Programs, and do not wish to use your remaining credits to purchase ice, all monies in the skater's account will be turned over to the club account.
Check the News & Events page for upcoming fundraising activities or call our Fundraising Chairperson.
The club is not responsible if a fundraising event is cancelled due to lack of participation.
Skaters in the Halifax Skating Club are eligible for a number of Awards and Bursaries recognizing skating accomplishments as well as the desire and initiative to succeed and advance in skating. Some awards and bursaries come from Skate Canada, others are administered directly by the Halifax Skating Club. Awards and Bursaries are available for all levels of skating. Skaters may apply directly for some awards and bursaries; others are awarded based on the coaches' recommendations. Announcements and deadlines for applications are posted on our NEWS page.
