HSC's Beginner CanSkate Program

for Beginners to Skate Canada Badge 3

Goal:

To develop fundamental skating skills, such as forward and backward skating; stopping; turning; edges; crosscuts; posture; pushing and gliding.

Skill Levels:

All skaters working on badges 1-3

Skaters working on badges 4, 5 & 6 who wear hockey skates.

Format:

Group lesson format led by a NCCP Certified Professional coach and assisted by trained Program Assistants.

Skaters progress at their own rate with continuous movement through games, drills, circuits and daily assessment.

*Skater must wear a helmet and mitts/gloves (no tapered bicycle helmets permitted.)
