2012 Snow Cancellation Policy

Please note the Policy used by HSC regarding snow cancellations. HSC will try to provide information on the day of a cancellation as swiftly as possible after a decision has been made.

****Snow Cancellation Policy*****

At times we may have to cancel lessons due to stormy weather. This decision is made according to our club policies, keeping your safety in mind. We will do our best to reschedule any days that are cancelled due to snow storms, making every attempt to have the reschedule day occur during your regular day and time. However as ice time is increasingly harder to come by, we cannot guarantee this, and the make-up day may have to occur at a different day and time – if at all. Refunds or credits will not be given for snow days. You will be notified of cancellations via email and our website as soon as possible on the given day

Good luck Karen!

The Halifax Skating Club wishes Karen Black good luck as she heads to Regina, Saskatchewan, to compete in the Skate Canada Challenge November 30th -December 4th. Karen earned a spot on the Nova Scotia team after winning the Pre-Novice Women's competition at the 2012 Skate Canada Nova Scotia Sectionals in late October.

On November 13, Karen wowed the CanSkate crowd with a command performance of her long program. CanSkater Lacey Wheatley then presented Karen with flowers and a good luck card signed by Halifax Skating Club skaters, as well as a bursary on behalf of the Halifax Skating Club.

Karen Black has been skating for 13 years. She is a student at Kings College, working on her Foundation Year Program. When Karen's not skating or studying, she enjoys running, playing the piano, and spending time with friends.

Best of luck in Regina, Karen!!
